Opportunities to Take Inspired Action
Do you ever look at what others are doing and feel completely inspired by them? There are so many people doing amazing things it is hard not to be inspired by the true brilliance of others. I personally love seeing and hearing about all of the amazing things people are doing or have overcome because it fills me with so much hope.
In the recent years, I have almost become obsessed with listening to inspirational podcasts because I just love hearing about people’s authentic journeys and how so many were able to overcome so many challenges. Humans truly have this amazing gift of resilience when they choose to take inspired action to turn their lives around.
If you feel stuck or blocked in some area of your life and do not know where to start then starting to take some inspired action might be exactly what you need. I have felt that way many times my energy was completely blocked and I did not know what step to take next, then some sort of inspiration hit and set me on a new journey of following my intuition and trusting the journey.
At one point in my life I was going through a very high conflict divorce, working full time and raising a toddler. I had so many ideas in my head about what I wanted to do but I had no idea where to start. So I booked a coffee date with one of the only entrepreneurial women I knew. I told her all of my ideas and asked how she started her jewelry business and where she started and how she knew what she wanted to do. Her answer to me was, “just start, when you start things will unfold the way they are meant to but you cannot do anything without starting.”
This was literally some of the best advice I had ever been given, it was so simple, yet so profound to me. My mindset had always been stuck in the, go to school, go to university, get a job and work. There was nothing in my life that had given me any indication that I could just start doing something I wanted to do and just see where it went. I was a very anxious A-type personality person, I planned out everything it seemed so foreign to me to just start and see where it went. It was however, the best advice I could have been given. That friend now has shifted her focus and become a very successful real estate agent because she is not afraid of starting something new and just trusting the process.
In my journey, since my original conversation with her, I have run art workshops, a yoga and art retreat, spoken on podcasts and written a number of books and workbooks. I have painted numerous canvases in my house and just really found joy in the process of just trusting the next step. I still work full-time as a teacher so I have my stable income but I also have this inner drive in me to take inspired action towards my goals each and every day not matter how small that action is.
I would love to hear what your favourite podcasts or inspirational books are. This week I challenge you to take some inspired action towards something you have always wanted to do but not known where to start or been too afraid to start. It truly is the journey, not the destination that matters. Find joy in the inspirational journey.
